The Jessica Joslin & David Kroll Exhibit

The current exhibit at the Lisa Sette Gallery displays the works of two very different artists who share an interest in the natural world. Entering the gallery, you might feel quite like David Kroll’s koi out of water. Both artists engage in a bit of time travel – Kroll’s still-life oil paintings are reminiscent of the Dutch Golden Age and Joslin’s skeletal sculptures of odd and magical creatures would fit naturally into any Renaissance-era curiosity cabinet. Their works challenge the imagination, incorporating scenes and details from another time and placing them in a modern context. Both artists have a talent for making man-made objects and nature collide. It’s a fascinating exhibit on display through August 26th. Don’t miss it!
